Tools for School Drive 2015

Many New Jersey children face the prospect of arriving at their first day of school this September without the most basic of school supplies. In order to address this, the AMI Foundation is launching its 7th Annual “Tools for Schools” supply drive, July 27th through August 14th.

“There are many children right here in our own communities who are not properly prepared for their return to school, simply because they lack the basic supplies like pencils and paper,” said Dr. Robert M. Glassberg, President of the AMI Foundation. “We invite the community to join us in donating much-needed school supplies, and thus help provide these children with an equal opportunity at a quality education.” The AMI Foundation has placed blue collection baskets in the reception areas of all eleven AMI office locations in Atlantic, Cape May, Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
The list of requested school supplies includes pencils, erasers, spiral notebooks, pocket folders, crayons, colored markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, highlighters and soft pencil cases. Many of these supplies can be purchased at deep discounts at the area’s large retailers, such as WalMart and Target.

As in years past, the AMI Foundation has also purchased book bags to accompany the school supply donations. Once the drive is complete, the collected supplies and book bags will be delivered to elementary schools throughout the area in late August. To date, the AMI Foundation has donated over 1,700 book bags to area school children in need.

AMI Spotilight: Egg Harbor Township Front Desk Staff

The AMI Spotlight is on the front desk staff at the Egg Harbor Township office. When you walk through the doors of our EHT office, the front desk staff will greet you with a pleasant smile. They understand that many patients are nervous or apprehensive about their exam.   The front desk staff works closely with the technologists to ensure that each patient has a positive experience at AMI.

Front Row (l to r): Christine, Sara, Toni
Back Row (l to r): Kristie, Amanda

Kristie has been a receptionist at AMI for 3 years.  She enjoys being able to make a difference in the patient's visit. Helping them and making sure their visit is pleasant is her top priority. After work, Kristie enjoys spending time with her son and family. Together they stay active with outdoor activities. They also enjoy visiting amusement parks and baseball games in the summer.

Amanda has been with AMI for 3 years and is the Lead Receptionist of the EHT office. Her job is to oversee the daily functions of the front desk, making sure the registration process is easy and pleasant for each patient. Amanda believes the sense of family amongst the staff benefits the patients. They all work together to put the patient's mind at ease during their exam. When she is not working, Amanda and her husband Anthony enjoy being active by going to the gym or bike riding and canoeing with their daughter Madison. They also are busy raising a dog, ferret, five ducklings and preparing for their 2nd daughter’s birth in August!

Christine has been with AMI for 10 years! Greeting patients and working with her co-workers is what she looks forward to most when coming to work. Knowing she is helping to make appointments less stressful for patients is very rewarding for Christine. Outside of work, she is involved in her neighborhood Civic Organization in Venice Park, Atlantic City. Christine also enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and pet cat, Marbles.

Sara is one of our newest receptionists and has been with AMI for almost 1 year.  She enjoys how helpful and pleasant her co-workers are. Sara strives to meet the needs of each patient, and their feedback encourages her to continue to work hard. Spending time with her family and being outside is what she enjoys most when she is not working. During the summer, they often go to the beach and boardwalk. Sara's dog Roscoe is also part of the family and they enjoy taking him for walks or to the park to chase squirrels.

Toni, an AMI employee for 13 years, has loved seeing the growth of the company. She has learned and grown along with AMI and has enjoyed her position as a receptionist in the EHT office. Working together with the other receptionists to help meet the needs of each patient is Toni's main goal each day. Toni feels a sense of accomplishment when she hears a patient thank the staff  -- she knows they made a difference. When not at work, Toni enjoys being able to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee with her family.

Next time you visit the Egg Harbor Township office, say hello to our receptionists.

AMI Spotlight : Radiologic Technologists of EHT

The Radiologic Technologists from the Egg Harbor Township office are in the AMI Spotlight. This office has 13 technologists who are certified in specific modalities including X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Mammography and DEXA scans (bone density). Their goal is to provide each patient with the best imaging experience possible.

This week we focus on the MRI & X-ray technologists in the EHT office. The technologists provide excellent patient care, assisting each patient through their exam as well as answering any questions they may have about their exam.

Meet our MRI technologists -- Chris, Kimberly and Beth.  Chris (far left) has been with AMI for 14 years. He enjoys working together with his fellow employees at the EHT office. Chris says that the most rewarding part of being an MRI technologist is interacting with patients and making them feel at ease during their exam. When Chris isn't working, he is busy gardening and spoiling his dog Rusty and cat Elli.

Kimberly (center) has learned during her 10 years at AMI that taking the time to listen to each patient helps them through the exam.  Outside of work, Kimberly is a busy mother of 3 boys. She volunteers as a classroom assistant and is very involved in the PTA. A favorite family activity is traveling to Disney and doing fun adventures such as zip lining!

Beth, an MRI technologist for 8 years, enjoys the friendly work environment and sense of family amongst her co-workers. Ensuring that patients receive proper medical care is her top priority. Beth and her husband have two children and are very involved in their children's activities which include baseball and theater.

Meet our X-ray technologists -- Megan, Eric and Denetria.   Megan (far left) has been with AMI for 4 years. Megan says that being able to work with co-workers who are like family is what makes working at AMI so rewarding. Working as a team creates a welcoming environment for patients. When she is not at work, Megan and her husband Chris are raising their two children, daughter Reese and son Ryder. They are busy with lacrosse, raising their 7 chickens and two hunting dogs.

Eric (center) has been an X-ray technologist at AMI for 10 years. He enjoys working together with his fellow technologists to provide quality patient care. Eric says that providing patients with excellent service is his main priority. Eric enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and kids when he is not working. As a family, they enjoy going to the beach and visiting Storybook Land.

Denetria (far right), a technologist for 12 years, says she looks forward to working with patients each day. Taking care of them by doing the best she can to meet their needs is her main priority.  Denetria enjoys being active in her church, as well as shopping and spending time with friends and family.

Next time you visit the Egg Harbor Township office be sure to say hello to our technologists. They will be there to answer any questions you may have about your appointment.
